Gangland hit target survives motorcycle gun attack when weapon jams

The target of a suspected gangland hit ran for his life as two gunmen on a motorcycle chased him through a busy street in Colombia.

CCTV footage shows the victim fleeing towards a shop in the El Recreo neighbourhood of Barranquilla before the passenger opens fire on September 26. The attacker then approaches the wounded man on the ground and appears to try to continue shooting before the weapon jams, forcing the pair to flee on the motorcycle. The victim survived and was taken to hospital, although authorities had not publicly disclosed his identity or the severity of his injuries. Police had not announced a motive or identified the attackers. They said they were investigating the link between this shooting and criminal organisations.
