Bangladesh PM flees in helicopter 'bound for UK' as riots escalate

Footage shows the Bangladesh Prime Minister fleeing in a helicopter as riots erupted and protesters stormed parliament and toppled statues on Monday.

Sheikh Hasina reportedly flew to India before making plans to seek asylum in the UK. Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with Hasina shortly after her arrival at the airbase near Delhi, where she landed in a Bangladesh Air Force C-130J military transport aircraft.
