This is the dramatic moment rescuers hauled passengers from the sea in a suspended rescue basket after a ferry caught fire off Indonesia.

Crew members spotted travellers stranded in the sea, while the stricken KMP Mutiara Sentosa 2 was surrounded by thick clouds of smoke in the distance off Sumenep Regency, near Madura Island, on August 2.
