Covid-19 breakout triggers lockdown in China's Xi'an City

Authorities have ordered the lockdown of some 13 million residents in China's Xi'an City in Shaanxi province after an outbreak of Covid-19 cases has been recorded in the northwestern city since December 9.

Footage shows roads empty of motorists as travel restrictions took effect on Thursday December 23.
