Heavy rain drenched a city in China as Typhoon Chanthu drew closer on Monday.

Footage shows an intense downpour battering port city Xiamen in the southeastern province of Fujian on September 13. The rain poured down in waves, swamping an empty sports field amid while lightning flashed intermittently.
