Powerful winds and torrential rain battered Chirala in Andhra Pradesh as Cyclone Murasu swept across the coastal region. Footage filmed by @MaxxCHere shows violent winds bending palm trees and surrounding vegetation, while heavy rainfall severely reduces visibility. The footage, captured from an elevated vantage point, highlights the intensity of the storm as it moves through the area. Cyclone Murasu made landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast between Bapatla and Prakasam districts on November 2-3, bringing sustained winds of 100 to 110 kilometres per hour, with gusts reaching 120 kilometres per hour. The cyclone caused widespread damage across coastal Andhra Pradesh, affecting more than 52,000 hectares of crops, damaging thousands of electricity poles and hundreds of homes. More than 12,000 people were evacuated, while two deaths were reported. Chirala also recorded around 124 millimetres of rainfall amid the severe weather conditions. Video Credit: @MaxxCHere
