Cars Swept Away by Powerful Floodwaters as Storm Agneta Batters Greece’s Rhodes Island

Dramatic scenes have emerged from Rhodes Island in Greece, where powerful muddy floodwaters swept away several cars through the streets amid severe flooding caused by Storm Agneta. The footage, believed to have been filmed in Archangelos, shows vehicles being carried along by the rapidly flowing water as floodwaters inundate the streets. At least 60 vehicles were reportedly swept away as the storm battered the island. The severe weather also prompted school closures and emergency alerts. The flooding has raised concerns over the island’s drainage infrastructure, with residents pointing to blocked natural waterways, unchecked construction and delays in completing flood protection projects. The footage was filmed in Rhodes, Greece, on November 2, 2026.
