Seawater has inundated roads and entered homes in Uppada, in Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district, as Cyclone Arnab impacts coastal areas. Residents are moving to safer locations amid worsening conditions. Coastal communities have been urged to remain alert and follow official safety instructions.
Latest reports say the cyclone has intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm, with landfall expected near the Andhra Pradesh–Yanam coast on October 28. Officials have deployed NDRF and SDRF teams, opened relief shelters and urged vulnerable coastal residents to evacuate. Strong waves and coastal erosion have also disrupted traffic near Uppada.
