A massive fire broke out at a building under renovation near Paris’ Gare d’Austerlitz on October 14.
Flames and thick plumes of smoke could be seen rising from the roof of a construction site on Boulevard de l’Hôpital, where a future Essilor headquarters is being built by Bouygues.
Around 100 firefighters were mobilised to tackle the blaze, which spread across approximately 1,000 square metres of roofing.
The fire was quickly brought under control, with no injuries reported. Train services at Gare d’Austerlitz were not disrupted.
