Thick black smoke billows into the sky over Paris after a fire broke out on the roof of a building under renovation near Gare d’Austerlitz.
The fire erupted on October 14 at a Bouygues construction site adjacent to the railway station, with a large plume of smoke visible from across the Seine.
Around 1,000 square metres of roofing were destroyed in the blaze. No injuries were reported, and rail traffic was not affected.
