Heavy rainfall triggered severe flooding in Las Condes, Santiago, Chile, on October 8, as powerful torrents of muddy water surged through streets along Avenida San Carlos de Apoquindo. Dramatic footage filmed from inside a building shows floodwaters rushing down the road, sweeping a car along the street near Clínica UC. The flooding reportedly affected around 200 hectares, inundating homes, roads and nearby institutions, including Clínica UC Christus and Universidad de los Andes. Authorities reported six injuries, including a one-year-old child who suffered a leg fracture. Emergency teams assisted more than 1,000 people, while around 2,000 homes were reported damaged. Chile's president declared the affected area a disaster zone as emergency response efforts continued. Video credit: @Cami_fgv
