Catalan police returned to Plaça Catalunya in Barcelona to clear around 100 protesters who remained at a housing demonstration.
Firefighters were also seen extinguishing multiple fires in the area as tensions escalated.
The protest on October 5 was held against Spain’s housing crisis, rising rents and evictions.
The demonstration drew thousands of people and later saw clashes involving burning containers and barricades.
Authorities reported arrests and minor injuries among police officers.
The incident took place near a week-old housing encampment in Plaça Catalunya.
