Fast-Moving Floodwater Sweeps Through Streets in Catalonia, Spain

Heavy rainfall triggered severe flooding in parts of Catalonia, Spain, with fast-moving, muddy water sweeping through streets and submerging sidewalks. Nighttime footage from the affected area shows floodwater rushing along the road and surrounding buildings, with water levels rising around homes and properties. The strong current can be seen carrying muddy water through the flooded street, highlighting the intensity of the downpour. The flooding comes amid a period of torrential rain across the Barcelona region, where some areas recorded more than 178 millimetres of rainfall. Several parts of the region experienced significant street flooding as drainage systems struggled to cope with the volume of water.
