Major flooding was reported in Sakarya’s Karasu district in Turkey after heavy rainfall exceeding 100 to 150 kilograms per square metre.
Floodwaters submerged streets in the Darıcayırı neighborhood, reaching around one metre in some areas. Several homes and businesses were surrounded by brown floodwater, while a front-end loader was seen carrying people through the flooded streets near a mosque.
Around 50 to 60 households were affected, with schools also closed due to the flooding. Rescue operations were carried out using excavators, tractors and Coast Guard boats.
