Stray Dog Attacks School Van Driver in Surat’s Dindoli, CCTV Captures Terrifying Incident

A school van driver was suddenly attacked by a stray dog near Saniya-Iklera Chowk in Surat’s Dindoli area. The incident took place at around 8:26 a.m. on September 24, when the driver had stopped the school van by the roadside. A woman had arrived with her child to put the child inside the van. As the driver stood near the vehicle, a stray dog suddenly ran towards him from behind and attacked him. The driver lost his balance and fell to the ground, but the dog continued biting and held on to his leg. CCTV footage shows the driver struggling to free himself from the animal. The woman who had brought the child to the van was also seen trying to move away after ensuring that the child was safely inside the vehicle. Reports said the driver suffered injuries to his hands and legs. Local people came to his assistance after the attack and took him to a nearby hospital for treatment. The incident has once again raised concerns over stray dogs in Dindoli, particularly around areas where children and school vehicles are present during morning hours. Local reports said residents have raised concerns about the recurring problem of stray dogs in the area. The Surat Municipal Corporation provides a dedicated complaint facility for stray-dog bite cases, while its general civic complaint helpline is also available to residents.
