Instant Karma in Ajmer: Chain-Snatchers’ Getaway Ends in Crash, One Held by Locals Script

A chain-snatching attempt in Ajmer, Rajasthan, took an unexpected turn when the alleged attackers ended up crashing their motorcycle while trying to escape. The incident took place in the Civil Lines area on September 12, when retired doctor Mahendra Jain, 69, and his wife Suchitra Jain, 66, were returning home on their scooter. They were reportedly just around 100 metres from their house when two men on a motorcycle allegedly targeted the woman’s chain. During the attempted snatching, the accused allegedly lost control of their motorcycle at a speed breaker and fell on the road. The couple also fell from their scooter. One of the men allegedly threatened the woman with an imitation pistol and managed to take her chain. As the accused tried to make their escape, a local man intervened and knocked one of them off the motorcycle. The woman's cries for help brought more residents to the spot. One accused managed to flee, while the other was chased and caught by locals before being handed over to the police. Police reached the spot and took the accused into custody. Officers also reportedly recovered the motorcycle and the imitation pistol allegedly used during the incident. The search for the accomplice who escaped is underway. What began as an attempted chain snatching quickly turned into an instant karma moment, as the alleged attackers' own escape attempt ended with their motorcycle crashing and one of them being caught by residents.
