Ghaziabad Lift Dispute Over Pet Dog Turns Violent, Teacher Allegedly Attacked With Stick

A dispute over taking a pet dog into a lift turned violent at Windsor Paradise-2, a high-rise residential society in Raj Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad. The incident took place on September 12 at around 3 pm, when schoolteacher Hina Bari was returning home from her school in Indirapuram. According to her complaint, a woman identified as Shweta Sube was already inside the lift with her pet dog and was allegedly stopping another resident from entering. An argument followed when Bari attempted to enter the lift. CCTV footage shows the confrontation escalating, with the woman accompanying the dog appearing to use a stick during the altercation. The two women then got involved in a physical scuffle, including slapping and hair-pulling. A security guard later intervened and separated them. Bari approached Nandgram police station and sought legal action, alleging that she was hit with the stick, slapped, abused and threatened during the confrontation. Police have registered an NCR and are examining the CCTV footage along with statements from witnesses. A police official said the roles of both women and the sequence of events are being investigated. The incident has also brought renewed attention to disputes involving pets and the use of common facilities in high-rise residential societies.
