Philippines – Kanlaon Volcano sent a grayish ash plume 500 meters above its summit crater at 6:02 p.m. on Sept. 9, with the emission drifting northeast.
Sped-up footage from the Canlaon City Observation Station shows a dark burst of ash pushing through the summit cloud before rising and expanding into a thick plume. The column then sheared toward the northeast and spread across the ridge.
