Graupel Shower Blankets Streets of Bahia Blanca, Argentina

Unusual wintry weather was captured on camera in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, as light white precipitation fell across streets and cars. Journalist Rodrigo Lasdica filmed the scene at night, initially questioning whether the falling pellets were hail, graupel or snow. Meteorologist Santiago Corinaldesi later identified the precipitation as graupel, associated with cold-air showers along the coast, rather than thunderstorm hail or accumulating snow.
