Spectacular 1,000ft high lift runs up cliffside cutting school commute for children

This spectacular footage shows a nearly 1,000ft-high lift running up the side of a cliff - cutting the school run time for children in China.

The huge structure rises through the Nizhu River Grand Canyon in Yunnan province, where pupils living in Nizhuhe Village once faced a gruelling climb of more than three hours a day to reach Guanzhai Primary School.
