TORRENTIAL STORM FLOODS TORONTO AS MURKY WATERS SWEEP THROUGH CITY STREETS

TORONTO, CANADA | SEPTEMBER 2, 2026 Dramatic footage shows murky, debris-filled floodwater rushing through parts of Toronto as a powerful storm battered the city and the Greater Toronto Area. The footage, filmed by @herosbeard, captures floodwaters surging past walls, murals and railings as intense rainfall overwhelmed parts of the city. Severe thunderstorms brought torrential rain, large hail and damaging winds across the GTA on September 2. Some areas recorded more than 100 millimetres of rain, triggering widespread flooding and major travel disruptions. The Don Valley Parkway was among the major routes forced to close because of flooding, while several other roads across Toronto and the GTA were also affected. The storm also caused widespread power outages, with around 65,000 customers reported without electricity at the height of the disruption. Rogers Stadium in North York sustained significant damage, while the Canadian National Exhibition closed early as the severe weather moved through the city.
