Rescue operations are continuing inside the Chilime hydropower tunnel in Nepal's Rasuwa district, where Indian Army specialists and the Nepali Army are working together to reach people believed to be trapped following the devastating floods.
The joint teams have established a foothold at the tunnel entrance and secured the approach with safety ropes, but no breakthrough has been reported yet. Difficult terrain, damaged infrastructure, unstable conditions and mud and debris inside the tunnel are making the operation extremely challenging.
