Deer Trapped in Gate for 90 Minutes Rescued by Forest Officials in Kerala’s Idukki

A deer was trapped in the bars of a gate for nearly an hour and a half in Vandiperiyar, Idukki district, Kerala, before forest officials arrived and rescued it.
The incident took place near the house of a local resident in Vallakkadavu. The deer became trapped while attempting to run uphill from the road, with its body caught between the metal bars.
Local residents alerted the Vallakkadavu forest check post, following which forest officials were informed. After about 90 minutes, forest personnel reached the spot and managed to free the animal in around 10 minutes.
The deer had suffered an injury to its abdomen while trapped in the gate. After being freed, it reportedly crossed the Periyar River and entered the nearby forest area.
