The iconic life-size RX-0 Unicorn Gundam statue at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Tokyo’s Odaiba performed its daytime transformation on August 31 — marking its final day on display after nearly nine years.
The 19.7-metre, 49-tonne statue, installed in September 2017, became a major attraction for Gundam fans and tourists, transforming into Destroy Mode with illuminated red accents and synchronized lighting effects.
The statue was given special “Ver. TWC FINAL” decorations designed by Hajime Katoki for its farewell period, with special events held in its final weeks.
After almost nine years as one of Odaiba’s most recognizable landmarks, the Unicorn Gundam has now completed its final transformation.
