Dramatic footage from Rasuwa, Nepal, shows the Nepali Army carrying out a high-risk rescue operation inside a flood-hit hydropower tunnel.
Rescue teams entered the tunnel to reach workers and others trapped inside after devastating floods swept through the region. The operation has been challenging because of thick mud, damaged infrastructure and dangerous conditions inside the tunnel.
The Nepali Army has so far rescued 350 people who were trapped inside the Upper Trishuli Hydropower tunnel, while rescue operations continue for others who may still be stranded.
The rescue comes after catastrophic flooding in Rasuwa triggered widespread destruction and left thousands in need of assistance. Army personnel are using specialised teams and helicopters to reach isolated areas and evacuate survivors.
The operation remains underway as authorities race against further flooding risks in the region.
