A man stops traffic to rescue stray duckling in the middle of the road in Thailand

While driving home, a man noticed something unusual in the middle of the road. As he pulled closer, he realized it was a stray duckling. He immediately decided to stop his car in the middle of the street and ran to wave down oncoming traffic so he could safely reach and rescue the little creature.

After successfully retrieving the duckling, he decided to bring it home with him. Unsure of its exact species, he searched for information and discovered that it was a Lesser Whistling Duck, a protected wild species in Thailand making it illegal for him to keep, especially given how young it was. Upon realizing this, he promptly called Khao Yai National Park officials to coordinate with wildlife veterinarians. The officials instructed him to temporarily drop the duckling off at an animal hospital opposite Pak Chong District Office. He followed the directions right away, safely handing the duckling over to experts for proper care.
