Flash Flooding Inundates Newark Street as Heavy Rain Swamps Mount Prospect Avenue

Heavy rainfall caused flash flooding on Mount Prospect Avenue in Newark, New Jersey, on August 20–21, leaving parts of the roadway submerged under deep, murky water. Footage filmed by @BagoFatz shows a car carefully making its way through the flooded street, with water covering a significant portion of the roadway. Images from the area also show orange construction barriers along the inundated street. The flooding was part of a wider spell of severe weather that affected Newark and surrounding areas, stranding vehicles and prompting water rescues at multiple locations.
