Heavy Rain Floods Rockaways Streets as Cars Push Through Deep Water

Heavy rainfall caused extensive street flooding in New York City’s Rockaways, leaving roads, sidewalks and curbs submerged under several inches of water. Footage shared by @MistaBubonic shows cars driving through flooded residential streets, sending large splashes across the roadway as water accumulated throughout the neighborhood. The flooding has renewed concerns about the area’s aging drainage infrastructure, with residents pointing to clogged catch basins and the lack of adequate flood barriers as contributing factors.
