Earthquake Tremor Shakes Rooftops in Las Gabias, Granada

A noticeable earthquake tremor shook Las Gabias in Spain’s Granada province on the morning of August 18, sending visible movement through rooftops as residents experienced the latest tremor in the region’s ongoing seismic activity. Footage recorded from a terrace shows rooftops, a church tower and birds as the surroundings shake during the tremor, which occurred at around 8:38 AM. The tremor was part of a continuing seismic swarm in the Granada area that began on August 14. The sequence has included earthquakes of up to magnitude 4.8 at shallow depths, with reports of minor cracks in buildings. Authorities have also reported around 14 people receiving treatment, largely for anxiety-related symptoms, while approximately 600 residents were evacuated amid concerns over continued seismic activity and aftershocks.
