Strong winds and heavy rain lash Oahu as Hurricane Lala sweeps across Hawaii

Strong winds and heavy rain were seen in Oahu as the outer bands of Hurricane Lala moved across Hawaii. Oahu resident @MokuMakani captured the turbulent weather from her backyard, showing tropical plants swaying violently in the wind as rain swept through the area. Lala briefly intensified into a Category 1 hurricane before skirting Hawaii's Big Island without making landfall. The storm brought torrential rainfall, flash flooding, mudslides, widespread power outages and significant damage across the island chain. The storm later weakened to a tropical storm as it continued moving westward, while authorities warned residents across Hawaii to remain cautious amid continuing heavy rain and strong winds.
