Severe flooding submerges homes in Anderson, Indiana

Severe flooding has inundated residential areas in Anderson, Indiana, near the White River, following torrential rainfall across the region. Homes, yards, fences and trees were left surrounded by murky floodwater as the river surged to nearly 25 feet, surpassing the previous high recorded in 1913. More than 11 inches of rain contributed to the historic flooding, prompting mandatory evacuations in several affected neighborhoods. Authorities have also carried out water rescues as emergency crews respond to the widespread flooding.
