Mountains scarred by quarrying seen from plane flying into Manila

Passengers aboard a plane were shocked to see mountains scarred by decades of quarrying as they descended towards Manila.

Footage captured by Leona Marie from a plane window shows vast sections of the mountainside stripped bare, with steep terraces, exposed rock faces and winding quarry roads cutting deep into the landscape as the aircraft approaches Ninoy Aquino International Airport on June 27.
