Anglophile Popang Udomphatworachoti, 26, had four friends helping her with cosmetics, hair and an outfit to resemble the star of the hit Netflix show.
Footage shows the plus-size Asian being covered in foundation and blusher to give her skin a glowing white appearance. She then has lipstick and eyeliner applied before donning a ginger wig.
With a classic 19th-century silk blue dress as the final touch, Popang would blend in seamlessly with the 'ton' for a season on the marriage market - dispensing gossip as Lady Whistledown.
Such is the resemblance to Penelope, pictures of Popang in her outfit are hard to distinguish from the period character, played by Nicola Coughlan in the show.
Popang, from Bangkok, Thailand, said: 'I've been a fan of Bridgerton for a long time. People have been saying since season one that I look like Penelope.
'As the character becomes more beautiful and confident over time, I feel like I've gone through something similar myself.
'There are also many aspects of the character that society tends to box her into, and I feel that's quite similar to my own experiences. That's why I feel very connected to this character and like her so much.
'It gives me a lot of confidence.
'From the video I made, many people have said I look exactly like her, even down to the breathing. Some people said it's not just the face but also the eyes and expressions.
'I tried to really understand the character and present her through my own perspective, so I'm very happy to see so many positive comments, including from people overseas.
'I really admire Nicola Coughlan as an actress, and what she says about her experiences.'
Season four of Bridgerton was released last month, with Australian actress Yerin Ha, who has Korean origins, being lauded for her portrayal of maid Sophie Penwood in a Cinderella-like storyline.
