Lindsay Dennison was interviewing AJ Ehurango of the UV Baby Lancers about his 18 rebounds at a University of the Visayas basketball event in Cebu, the Philippines.
Footage shows the student field reporter holding a microphone, with AJ standing beside her, as a ball whipped unexpectedly towards her head on November 30.
The quick-thinking athlete instantly darted his hand out, managing to deflect the ball just inches from the reporter's head.
Viewers praised Lindsay for being alert and preventing the TV reporter from being struck.
