Thananan Ruan Nak and his family were strolling around the Wildlife Rescue Centre No 1 when they spotted the runaway mustelid wandering outside its enclosure in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand.
The sanctuary staff were immediately called to capture the mischievous aquatic mammal on November 25.
Footage shows the men attempting to feed the otter fish to lure it, but the lively animal kept trotting around the area.
Moments later, the keepers used baskets to catch the animal, but it slipped away.
They eventually drove the otter towards its pen by placing fish inside the enclosure.
Otters are social, playful, and curious animals that use their whiskers to explore, communicate through sounds and gestures, and are skilled swimmers who also roam on land.
