Fighter jet crashes and explodes in fireball at Dubai Air Show

A fighter jet crashed at the Dubai Air Show today, killing the pilot when the plane exploded in a fireball.

Horrifying footage shows the Indian Air Force HAL Tejas plane plunging to the ground in front of shocked spectators in the United Arab Emirates.

The aircraft was performing an aerobatic manoeuvre at Al Maktoum International Airport when it suddenly lost altitude.

Thick black smoke rose above the venue as visitors watched in shock.

The Indian Air Force confirmed that the pilot was killed in the crash, and a court of inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident. UAE emergency responders reached the site within minutes, working to extinguish the flames and secure the crash zone.
