Philippines earthquake shakes shopping mall as visitors hide under tables

This is the terrifying moment a visitor hid under a table as a powerful earthquake shook a shopping mall in the Philippines.

Dramatic footage taken by a local sheltering beneath the desk shows the violent sway of the building, with the lights going out during a power outage in the store in Cebu on September 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) confirmed the tremor measured a magnitude of 6.9 and was centred 21 kilometres northeast of Bogo City, Cebu, at a shallow depth of 5 kilometres. The quake was tectonic in nature.
