The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) drilled into the Moon's surface for thermal exploration.
After Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost 1 spacecraft, designed to send payloads to the Moon, landed on March 2, NASA's Lunar Instrumentation for Subsurface Thermal Exploration with Rapidity (LISTER) tool began drilling into the surface to measure the heat flow from the Moon's interior.
