Sakurajima Volcano spews 1.2km high ash cloud in Japan

The Sakurajima Volcano erupted, spewing a towering plume of ash and smoke that soared 1,200 metres above the crater in Japan on Sunday, September 1.
Officials have advised residents of Kagoshima Prefecture, especially those near the volcano, to stay indoors to avoid inhaling ash and to take precautions against volcanic ash fallout.
