Japan and the U.S. held military exercises in the Philippine Sea amid the Southeast Asian country's territorial dispute with China in the South China Sea.
The USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), the U.S. Navy's sole forward-deployed aircraft carrier joined forces with ships from the 7th Fleet and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) in the Valiant Shield 2024 exercise on June 7.
