Russian forces deliver preemptive strike on Ukrainian army closing in on border region

Russian reconnaissance units have allegedly destroyed a concentration of Ukrainian forces near the two countries' border.

Crews from Russia's Western Military District discovered the Ukrainian soldiers while reportedly doing reconnaissance in the Belgorod Region, which is located just 40 kilometres (24 miles) from the border and has been the target of recent Ukrainian shellings.
