Heartwarming videos taken over two years show a toddler slowly learning to surf.
Three-year-old Abay Sittimongkol first visited the beach when he turned one and his father helped him to balance on the board in Chanthaburi province, Thailand.
The youngster enjoyed being in the sea so much that his parents began taking regular family trips to the coast and giving him their own style of DIY lessons every couple of months.
Footage taken this week shows how the adorable little surfer can now ride a wave all the way to the shore without any help from his father.
Abay's father Patcharapon said: ‘Time flies really fast. It felt like yesterday when he was only a tiny baby in my arms enjoying the waves and salty water. Now he can ride the board on his own without me.'
The doting dad helped to teach his son the basics by letting him lie on a foam board in a swimming pool while learning how to paddle his arms to generate the movement needed to catch a wave.
When he turned three, the talented surfer was able to paddle, catch a wave, stand up and ride onto the sand.
The emotional father added: ‘My mini surfer plays also likes normal things like trains and he plays with his siblings all the time, too. It makes me happy seeing them excel at things that they love.'
Abay's proud mother Valailuck said she loves going to the beach for family days out and watching her son learn how to surf.
She said: 'He's not afraid of anything. He loves being in the sea. He was delighted and laughing when he first stood up on the board. It makes us so happy to see.'
