Military jets put on show of strength to mark Navy Day in Russia

Military jets flew over Saint Petersburg in Russia today as they put on a show of strength to mark the country's annual Navy Day.

The annual national holiday honoring the sailors in units of the Russian Navy and its specialised arm takes on extra significance amid the country's ongoing war with neighboring Ukraine, which has claimed the lives of an estimated 25,000 Russian soldiers. It was marked on July 31.
