Flash floods hit villages as Tropical Cyclone Asani caused strong winds over southern Thailand.

Heavy rainfall battered Surat Thani province over the weekend, damaging at least 25 houses, 25 roads, and 18 bridges, the Surat Thani disaster mitigation office said. Footage taken on May 6 shows a swollen river's strong current sweeping fallen branches and debris downstream.
