A pet kitten that was stuck on an electricity pole was finally saved after concerned residents flooded the local electricity company - and even the mayor - with calls and e-mails for help.

The 11-month-old feline named Ruth had been trapped for at least two days after the neighbour's dogs reportedly chased it away in Indio City, California.
