Typhoon Kompasu batters Hainan province in China

Typhoon Kompasu hit the southern Chinese province of Hainan on October 13 while the country was still reeling from damage wrought by tropical storm Lionrock last week.

Footage shows swollen waves overflowing on the coasts of Haikou City on Wednesday. Strong winds also blew down trees which crashed onto and damaged parked vehicles.
