Celebratory parade held in Kandahar days after U.S. exit

A military parade was held in Kandahar, Afghanistan, on September 1 to celebrate the withdrawal of U.S. forces.

Taliban leaders and scores of their supporters gathered at a stadium in the southern Afghan city on Wednesday, waving the black-and-white Taliban flag victoriously. Kandahar governor Haji Yusuf Wafa was also in attendance, calling on former employees in hiding to come home and be granted amnesty. Wafa was seen kneeling in prayer before giving his speech.
