A bungling tourist had to be rescued after ignoring warnings to go for a swim on Thailand's Covid-19 quarantine island.

The 34-year-old Irish holidaymaker walked down the rocky part of a beach in Phuket province on July 19 and tried to swim despite being told by lifeguards that it would be dangerous as it was the monsoon season.
