Pod of orca whales trapped in ice drift in Japan
Published date: Sat, 10 Feb 2024 14:28:25 +0700A pod of orcas which appeared to be trapped in drift ice off the coast of Hokkaido in northern Japan have escaped, local media reported on Wednesday, February 7, citing town authorities.
The group of at least 10 orcas or killer whales was seen struggling in the ice about a kilometre off of Rausu on February 6 morning, drone footage provided by environmental group Wildlife Pro showed.
