Rare male parrot flies in for breeding programme
Published date: Wed, 08 Jun 2022 17:11:14 +0700Europe's last captive male black-billed amazon parrot has been transferred to a new zoo for a breeding programme with one of the few females of its kind.
The bird - originally a native of the Caribbean - flew in from the Spanish Canary Islands to take up his new duties in the Austrian capital Vienna. The breed is officially classified as endangered by the IUCN.
